Duck Creek Ice Cave, Cedar Breaks, Utah

High in the mountains of south central Utah at Cedar Breaks, at over 10,000ft, you find one of the highest places in Utah. Continuing southeast from the main overlook is a lava field with interesting limestone features sitting over or around the volcanic rock. At around 8,500ft surrounded by birch and pine is Duck Creek Ice Cave — a limestone pocket that holds ice year-round. Not much to the cave itself other than its perpetual cold, but the colors of oxidizing elements on the walls are striking. A nice add-on if you're already in the Cedar Breaks area.
