The 2016 Main Drain Cave expedition continued with a pre-dive gear stage drop to position equipment for the dive team. This involved rigging back into the cave system with a full load — over 50lbs of gear on the harness — and navigating the series of re-belays including the J-hang at Frayed Knot and the raining 100ft free hang at the bottom sequence. The objective was to replace rope sections in the Frayed Knot drop and drill bolts to make the lower cave safer for future expeditions. Rope replacement and bolt drilling completed on this push.
