Nevada is a mysterious place with enormous opportunity for geologic exploration. One region in particular has been giving up clues to more caves with every visit into its desolate limestone ridges. On this visit a new discovery was made on the ridge: Natural Arch Cave, named for the striking natural arch above the entrance pit. I climbed down into the entrance and continued down the hypogenic passage for about 50ft until it opened into a standing room.
Unfortunately the cave ended — not much more to the passage. The ridge above Hidden Lake Cave was hiked and checked with no other caves found. Additional leads were spotted with the drone for future trips. Anticipating that one day another large cave will be found in this area. The search continues.
