Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada

From Page we headed back to Las Vegas and stopped at Valley of Fire to conclude a friends' trip through the sandstone desert of the south. Valley of Fire is a beautiful protected state park just 40 minutes from Las Vegas — 40 minutes from the Strip but a world away. Easy to access but busy on holidays. We waited in a traffic jam at the entrance then headed straight for the Fire Wave region. Fearing crowds we took an alternate approach through a short slot canyon coming up from the bottom. With Francesco Sauro.
