Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in southern Nevada is one of the most biologically diverse desert oases in North America. The refuge contains over 30 spring systems and seeps supporting an extraordinary concentration of endemic species found nowhere else — including rare desert fish, plants, and invertebrates. The warm springs emerge from the same regional karst aquifer that feeds Devils Hole, making this one of the most important groundwater-dependent ecosystems in the desert Southwest.
