Maha'aulepu Heritage Trail, Kauai, Hawaii

The Maha'aulepu Heritage Trail hugs the dramatic south shore of Kauai past ancient fishponds, sea caves, and fossilized sand dunes. The coastline here is wild and undeveloped — owned by Grove Farm and accessible by foot only. The trail passes through a speleologically interesting section of dune karst with small sea caves carved by wave action in the coastal limestone. One of the least-visited sections of the Kauai coastline with impressive views of the sea cliffs and offshore islands.
