House of Stone Cave, Nevada

Nevada mining has been a significant industry throughout the history of the state. I have not seen much discussion on mines that break into caves or caves that have broken into mines, so with this particular cave I am calling it 'House of Stone Cave.' This was originally a cave that appeared to have been mined extensively for resources. The multiple entrances appear to be solutional in nature but when the mining industry found this cave, they apparently felt they could get more out of it.

The further back I got into the cave, the more unnatural it appeared and the more destruction could be seen. The cave itself was completely gutted for resources and talus piles were out on the front entrance. It's interesting to see how the mining industry has come in and destroyed a cave for resources — and a reason why caves are kept quiet when discovered.
