Frenchmen's Canyon Nighttime, Las Vegas

Frenchmen's Canyon is a Las Vegas classic with interesting views if you catch it at the right time — and nighttime is the best time. You get excellent views of the city lights from within the canyon walls. We had a birthday celebration out here and it was the perfect place to practice rappelling after dark.

We cracked a bunch of glowsticks and worked our way down the canyon. The night sky, weather, city lights, and great friends made for a fantastic evening. The canyon has around 7 rappels up to 80 feet in length — a couple are downclimbable and most of the route is bolted. We went up the direct route to the top, watched the sunset, then descended in the dark. A great evening and highly recommended for anyone near Las Vegas looking for an after-hours adventure.
