Den of the Manticore Cave, Nevada

Den of the Manticore Cave is another new Nevada cave with a very large entrance and some interesting features. The cave goes back around 130 feet to a terminal passage. Once you get beyond the entrance passage the cave tightens up and you encounter some crawling. Get through the crawling and the cave opens back up into a formation room with one lonely column.

There is some interesting geology in the walls and ceiling as the colors change. In another passage you encounter small selenite needles — quite unique and rare to find. This is a very interesting cave and I think there are more caves around in the area.
