Cima Lava Tube, California

Cima lava tube is a lava tube cave located in the Mojave National Preserve in the Cima Dome volcanic field of California. The Cima Dome area is known for its volcanic geology and cinder cones. This lava tube provided an interesting contrast to the limestone solution caves typically explored in Nevada and offered a unique look at a different style of cave formation created by flowing lava rather than dissolving rock.
