Cannonball Cave Spring Resurgence, Lake Wappapello, Missouri

About 3 hours south of Waynesville to Lake Wappapello, Missouri. Spotted the cave entrance from a tank stand trail leading to the waterline — a limestone wall visible across the lake. Fish jumping near the shoreline revealed the resurgence boil about 20ft offshore. Tied off a primary line and entered the cave. Through a natural bridge and to the pit, which descends to around 280ft — beyond what our plan covered. Completed the decompression obligation and exited to a cool mid-day fall sun. 7-hour drive back to Chicago afterward. Always communicate and mitigate anxiety around cave diving plans — any awkward misunderstanding should be addressed before, during, and after the dive.
