Shipwrecks

It is fascinating how fast we evolve with mechanics and technology and watch as our evolution of our engineering competency has developed from wood and stone.   This is where my interest in our Ghost shipwrecks of the Great Lakes has come from.  Just in the great lakes alone, there are around 10,000 Shipwrecks that left their legacy at the bottom of the dark and cold, 34 degree waters. A lot of these shipwrecks have played a critical role in the development of the American economy especially back in the 18 and early 1900's but, back in their time, technology to predict weather and their custom designs were no match for the wind and waters they challenged.  Lives were lost and goods were destroyed as these wooden crafts were taken, along with their stories down into the depths of these great lakes.  Today, around 3000 out of the 10,000 or so shipwrecks have been re identified where they lay in their final resting places.  Many more are yet to be discovered.
