Windlass Cave is located 60 miles west of Salt Lake City and requires a 4x4 road that becomes very difficult after rain — which it did the day before this visit. The pit is around 120ft total depth with the first 60ft a sloping rap, which is common in Utah caves. Once at the bottom the formation flowstone on the walls is impressive. Visited alongside Monte Carlo Cave on the same day with Peter, Laura, Swede, and Nic. Cold, rainy day but a great outing. Ended with Olive Garden to plan the Main Drain expedition.
