Panamint Dunes, Death Valley National Park, California

Panamint Dunes is located within the north tip of the Panamint Range in Death Valley. The area sits at only 3,000ft above sea level with a 4-mile one-way gradual slope that takes you to the heart of these dunes. The views are spectacular and vast, with a massive amount of landscape visible from the top.

Camping is dispersed so a tent was pitched right on top of one of the dunes for a night of stars and incredible serenity. A Christmas Eve trip to Death Valley, one of the most surreal overnight experiences — sleeping on a dune surrounded by silence and the vastness of the Panamint Range.
