Main Drain Cave Dive Expedition 2016, Dive Gear Haul-In

Main Drain Cave is one of the most formidable cave systems for human exploration in the United States. The cave sits at around 1227ft of total vertical extent with many opportunities to continue deeper. Temps right around 34 degrees with wind blowing through in places and the same temperature water throughout. Many re-belays to negotiate including a J-hang out into the abyss at the top of Frayed Knot. This expedition was focused on the gear haul-in to support the dive team reaching the sump. With Fernando. Do not underestimate this cave — get proper training before approaching it.
