Little Wild Horse & Bell Canyon Loop, San Rafael Swell, Utah

Little Wild Horse Canyon and Bell Canyon form the most popular non-technical slot canyon loop in Utah — 8 miles near Goblin Valley State Park in the San Rafael Swell. The route drops into some of the most stunning Entrada sandstone narrows in the Colorado Plateau with walls rising 50-75ft overhead and passages barely wide enough to fit through sideways. Bell Canyon has less dramatic narrows but beautiful multi-colored amphitheater walls in purple, gold, green, and red. The 2-mile jeep road connector between the two canyons offers great Swell views. No technical gear needed — this is the gateway slot canyon experience of Utah. November 2015.
