Devils Drain & Bighorn Canyons, Colorado River, Nevada

The Black Canyon of the Colorado is located just south of Las Vegas, bordering Nevada and Arizona. The river trip downstream offers hydrothermal caves and hot springs as well as technical and non-technical canyon routes in crystal clear water. Laura and I kayaked here with the Armstrongs the previous year. This year I came via Devils Drain Canyon to meet up with the group for a night on the Colorado. The following day we stopped at Arizona Hot Springs before parting ways. Cindy Walck and Shane Fryer took me by canoe down into Bighorn Canyon for the exit, then a 2,500ft scramble back up to the rim. Thanks to Andy and Bonny Armstrong for another invitation. With Laura, Andy and Bonny Armstrong, Cindy Walck, and Shane Fryer.
